On December 20, 2018, Uyghur womens residing in Toronto, Canada, participated in the International Islamic Conference RIS to seek help for Uyghur orphans by selling homemade products. During this three-day period, the Uyghur women volunteered services such as selling scarves, photographing with Uyghur traditional clothing, distributing leaflets on the Uyghur case, collecting signatures for petitions, requesting heart words for Uyghur citizens, and so on.

The most impressive thing about this event was  that all the Uyghurs worked together to help our own Uyghur people. Mrs. Turnisa’s speech to the audience about the Uyghur case impressed us very much. Although some Uyghur brothers could not participate in this event, they supported us by sending food for sale. As a result, so many guests visited us especially and indicated their support and helpfulness.

We would like to thank all the brothers and sisters who helped us and supported  us in this event. May Allah accept your help and reward you. May Allah help us in our future work. May Allah help us to gain our  freedom as quickly as possible.

People who have some information about the East Turkistan know that the territory is a wide land with nice climate and rich of on and under ground rezerves given by Allah.
Since the Chinese invasion in XVIII. Century, Uygurs, who are the real owners of the country never have stopped their struggles for the independence. Annoying, even fear with this actions, starting from 2016, the communist and facist Chinese government accelerated its massacre and genocide policy toward the nation.
The heros who joined these struggles, sacrificed their lifes for the motherland and won the honourable distinctions in the history. One of these heros is Nuzugum (Nozugum, Nazigum, Nazugum) who was born in Atush, Kashar as a pretty daughter of the commander of Atush. She was a poetess. With her courage against the enemies, she became the heroine in the epic and heroic poems as Nazugum.
The history witnessed that after the suppression of the rebellion leaded by Cihangir Hoja in Kashgar during 1824-1828, the town experienced the most bloody and grievous event in the era.
As an excuse of joined the rebellions, many people were killed. Ten thousands of Uygur women mostly composed with children were dispatched to the various parts of the country and distributed to the Han and Manchu officials as slaves.
The invaders killed Nozugum’s mother, husband and 3 – years old son. Soon after Nozugum escaped from the slavery with her brother, she was captured and forced to marry to the Han commander. For not to dirt her chastity and bear a kafir’s child, Nozugum killed the commander at the first night and escapted and lived in a cave resisting the bad climate for about two months. When the enemies found Nozugum and intended to arrest her, she killed some of them. The rest of the enemy soldiers afraided to fight with her, arreseted her by firing the intrance of the cave and let smoke fulfilled the cave. She was killed cutting head 24 days after she was puting in the jail.
As the proud and the heroine of Uygur nation, Nozugum is stil alive in the heart of the people as epic.

Nuzum Cultural & Family Centre

Nuzugum cultural & Family Centre  was established in Istanbul, Turkey by a group of volunteer Uyghur Muslim sisters in November, 2013. This foundation has a small group of supporters and still growing across several countries around the world, including Canada.

Our main goal is to support the Uyghur orphans and help them in many different aspects of their life, by providing their financial basic needs and supporting their studies of science and religion; We want to bring them up as happy, healthy minded and well educated people who can contribute to the society.

In the first year of our establishment, the Foundation managed to issue 50 Turkish Liras per month to each of the 350 orphan kids. With active support from the Uyghur Muslim sisters abroad, this Foundation has been working hard to accommodate more and more children. The number of orphans funded by this foundation reached more than 100 and monthly fund increased to 70 Turkish Liras for each of them in 2015, and now 190 orphan kids with monthly support of 80 Turkish Liras in 2017, 350 orphan kids in 2018.

Nuzugum Cultural & Family Centre  helped 20 Uyghur orphan kids to be enrolled in supporting list by IHH the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian (

Alhamdullilah, with the help of Allah, the Foundation has been consistently issuing above help monthly without fail. Meanwhile the Foundation has helped some other students who are unable to pay tuition fee for Quran and other courses, and also helped some disable children to pay for Hospital fees. Also, every year during Ramadan, we gave financial help to many orphans and widows, and bought Eid gifts to them. During Eidul Adha, we managed to reach the goal of each family must taste the Qurbani meat.

The Foundation has been trying all efforts to support the orphans. The Foundation have started the “Nuzugum Sisters Textile Centre” as a small business for widow sisters who were unemployed or willing to volunteer to help the orphans. All profits from this business such as sewing and selling clothes have been used to support the orphans.

However the number of orphans are growing rapidly because of the horrific oppression by the Chinese government on Uyghur Muslims. To be able to support the growing number of orphans, the Foundation needs your help!

Please help us help the Orphan’s,
